Alison Craggs

Alison qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and has practised in Private Client work, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate Administration and Trusts, for over 20 years.

Alison joined our firm in 2020.  Prior to that (2007 to 2020) she practised in the Oxford office of Blake Morgan LLP, which is a national law firm.  She trained as a Solicitor with Boodle Hatfield LLP in their London Mayfair office (2002 to 2004) and on qualification worked in their Oxford office (2004 to 2007) acting for landed estate and high net worth individuals.

Alison graduated with a first-class honours degree and a distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Alison enjoys advising clients and their families and building long-term relationships with them.  She is experienced in handling complex and personal matters in a sensitive way.

Memberships and Rankings

Alison is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).  She passed the STEP Diploma with distinction in 2008 and was awarded the 2007 STEP Excellence Award for achieving the highest mark in the STEP Administration of Estates exam.  As a STEP member, Alison has to commit to high professional standards and demonstrate ongoing specialist knowledge.

She is also an accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers.  Lifetime Lawyers are considered the gold standard when supporting vulnerable and older people with legal advice.

Alison has also passed the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT)’s advisory paper on Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates.

Alison is individually ranked in Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide 2025.  Our firm has been ranked in band 1 of this Guide for the past 5 years.  Alison is also named in the Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Partner” being a junior partner with significant recognition from clients and peers in the market.

Alison has written articles for STEP, the Association of Lifetime Lawyers and for various national journals including the Law Society and the Trust and Estates Law and Tax Journal.

Panels

Alison has presented at Mencap’s conferences on trusts for disabled people and is on their panel of professional advisors.

She is also a member of the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends initiative and appears on the Alzheimer’s Research UK list of solicitors.
