Launch of our Spanish Desk

We’re pleased to announce the launch of our Spanish Desk following the arrival of Yolanda Perez Berges, an experienced bilingual, qualified Spanish lawyer registered in the UK with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and with Madrid Bar Association (ICAM).

Yolanda’s appointment reflects growing client demand for trusted advice where there are personal, business or property ties to Spain.

Our Spanish Desk will help bridge the gap between UK common law and Spanish civil law, offering integrated legal support for UK nationals and businesses navigating the relationship between the UK and Spanish legal systems and, conversely, Spanish nationals and businesses with interests in the UK.

The firm’s Spanish Desk will provide a comprehensive range of advice on cross-border estate planning, probate and taxation, as well as property transactions, residency visas and cross-border family matters.

Yolanda Perez Berges has more than 17 years’ experience as a lawyer across the UK and Spain. She obtained her law degree from the University of Zaragoza and continued her studies with a master’s degree at Comillas Pontifical University of Madrid (ICADE). Yolanda has lived and worked in both Spain and the UK.

Commenting on the launch of the firm’s Spanish Desk, Managing Partner Della Burnside said:

“Spain has become a key destination for our clients, and the launch of our dedicated Spanish Desk is a natural next step. With Yolanda joining the firm, we can offer a seamless service to those who need cross-border Anglo-Spanish advice. We are delighted to welcome Yolanda and to further strengthen our international expertise.”

Yolanda, Head of the Spanish Desk, added:

“I’m delighted to have joined The Burnside Partnership as it expands its international services – particularly within Europe. As a bilingual lawyer registered in both the UK and Spain, I can help bridge the two jurisdictions and support clients with cross-border interests in a joined-up, practical way. I am excited to be working alongside talented colleagues helping solve the complex cross-border legal issues facing our clients today”.
