Fiona Wheeler

On 18 December 2019 Fiona sadly died having lost her courageous battle with illness.

Fiona was an extremely talented and respected Private Client lawyer. She was admired by colleagues and clients alike for her technical expertise, precision and skill together with her common sense and sensitivity.

Anna and Fiona had worked together for many years and without Fiona’s tenacity, ambition and keen business sense, The Burnside Partnership would not have come into existence. Fiona was key in realising her and Anna’s vision to create a niche Private Client law firm truly dedicated to meeting their clients’ needs.

Fiona believed passionately in supporting young people in their careers and was instrumental in and central to establishing The Burnside Partnership’s apprenticeship programme; a programme that has received numerous awards, including Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2018.

Everyone at The Burnside Partnership will miss Fiona deeply but remember warmly her intellect, professionalism, humour and kindness. She endured her illness with the greatest fortitude and strength and was an inspiration to so many people. Fiona genuinely loved her work and it was her wish not to let her illness stop her continuing to do what she loved doing for as long as possible. Fiona was proud of what she and the rest of the team had achieved at The Burnside Partnership and we will continue to grow and develop the firm, always keeping her at the forefront of our minds and in so doing endeavour to achieve a legacy of which she would have been proud.
