We are recruiting an Accounts & Billing Manager

The Accounts & Billing Manager role is within the Finance Practice area of The Burnside Partnership and will report into the Finance & Business Services Manager.

Experience of billing, credit control and an overview of legal cashiering functions is essential for this role.  Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of Solicitors Accounts rules and possess excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication skills.  Attention to details is vital, as is delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

Process the firm’s billing/credit notes, working with one other and supervising their workloads to ensure timely remittance of accounts.

Ensure charge rates are accurate and liaise with fee earners.

Ensure WIP is managed accurately & write offs are up to date/authorised correctly.

Liaise with the legal cashiers (outsourced function) and ensure accounts are up to date and transfers posted promptly. Manage day to day relationship and escalate issues to Finance & Business Services Manager as appropriate.

Provide management with appropriate reporting regarding financial performance.  Knowledge of Excel is required.

Distribute WIP reports and billing guides.

Produce statements of account for clients.

Assist with property completion statements.

Carry out credit control/take payments and ensure notes are up to date.

Be the point of contact for the fee earners for general queries.

Maintain compliance register in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Ensure disbursements are captured and billed accurately and correct vat applied.
